Building and installation of sublacustrine intake in the lake of Valencia for the Avicola Macundo C.A

Guacara. Carabobo state. Venezuela

SUMMARY

ClientAVÍCOLA MACUNDO, C.A.

Ubicación: Guacara, Carabobo State.

Duration: Tres (3) months.

Scope: It includes the Welding works of a High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipeline SRD 21 of Æ = 250 mm and 362 meters in length, assembly and installation of the Submarine System in the Lake of Valencia to the artificial lagoon, including such activities as:

  • Provisional Facilities and Stakeout.
  • Installation of ballasts (reinforced concrete anchors) on pipes together with the studs, nuts and washers.
  • Installation of pipe in the lake bottom by maneuver of laying, sinking and ditching.

Water collection systems for irrigation systems are intended to ensure reliable and safe water supply.

With the need to ensure water supply for use in irrigation and other uses of the Avicola Macundo C.A. a sublacustrine outlet was built in the lake of Valencia that feeds the artificial lagoon located within its facilities.

The intake system was based on the placement of a filter-intake structure protected by a roughing basket, which feeds the pipeline anchored on the bottom of the lake, and which communicates directly with a reinforced concrete pipe placed on the shore; allowing by simple communicating glass maintain a water level, acting as a pit.

Communicating vessel: structure consisting of a reinforced concrete tube of Æ = 1.50m and L = 2.60m, in order to receive and store the lake water from the intake filter.

INTAKE: Installation of 60 m of HDPE pipe Ø 250 mm buried to the point of entry to the lake. Sinking and installation in lake of 302 meters of HDPE pipe Ø 250 mm, ballasted.

ELINSUBCA, C.A. installed the pipeline in the lake bottom by maneuvers of staking, sinking and ditching.
